The beginner course is focused on a general overview of the influences of the microbiota on humans during homeostasis and disease.

In the course, we will explore multiple factors that contribute to the establishment and alteration of the human gut microbiota. We will explore the gut-skin axis and the brain-skin axis and how the diet is playing a crucial role in shaping our unique microbiota signature.

We will also understand how altered gut bacterial composition (dysbiosis) has been associated with the pathogenesis of many inflammatory diseases and infections.
