Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I get this test?
This is a fully personalized solution test can help detect genetic factors and imbalances in the vaginal flora that may be linked to fertility issues. It is recommended for women that are planning to conceive, or have experienced fertility changes, pregnancy loss, or recurrent urinary tract infections.

For couples planning to undergo assisted reproduction, this test can help their healthcare provider in deciding the optimal course and inform on potential complications from treatment, such as ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, thus increasing the chance of a successful pregnancy.
When should I take this test?
The buccal swabs can be taken anytime. For microbiome accuracy, the vaginal swab should be taken at least 3 days before or 3 days after menstruation. The collected samples must be stored at room temperature (15°C-25°C) until shipping.
How do I prepare for sample collection?
Antibiotics: Systemic antibiotics must be discontinued for at least 1 month before sample collection. Local antibiotics must be stopped at least 1 week prior.

Antifungals: Both systemic and local antifungal treatments must be discontinued for at least 1 week before sample collection.

Consult with your doctor before stopping any prescribed medication.

Before collecting the vaginal sample, do not wash the genital area or apply any lotions, creams or emollients to the area.

Do not smoke, eat, drink (except water), brush your teeth, or chew gum within 30 minutes of buccal swab collection.
What is included in the report?
The results are divided into two sections:

Vaginal Microbiome Analysis

Genetic Fertility Analysis
How do I interpret the results?
The results should be interpreted with the help of your family doctor or gynaecologist. If a microbiome imbalance is detected, your healthcare provider may recommend lifestyle changes, probiotics, antibiotics, or antifungal treatments depending on the specific findings. Should you require a genetic consultation for inherited factors tied to fertility, miscarriage risk, and reproductive challenges, please get in touch and we will connect you with a specifically trained genetic professional.
Can I use the tests if I’m pregnant?
Yes, this test can be taken while pregnant. A balanced vaginal microbiome is important for pregnancy health, and an imbalance may be linked to conditions like bacterial vaginosis, which can increase the risk of preterm birth or other complications. If you’re considering the test, it’s best to consult your healthcare provider to determine if it’s necessary for you during pregnancy.

Thrombophilia & Neonatal Alloimmune Thrombocytopenia (NAIT)

Genetic testing to identify inherited clotting disorders and platelet incompatibilities that may affect pregnancy, newborns, or thrombosis risk.

Genetic Carrier Screening Test

Determines whether an individual carries genetic variants that could be passed on to their children and cause inherited disorders.

Molecular Diagnostics of Sexually Transmitted Infections

Identifies specific organisms responsible for sexually transmitted infections with high accuracy and sensitivity (T. vaginalis, M. hominis, M. genitalium, Ureaplasma spp.,

N. gonorrhoeae, C. trachomatis).
